Sky Coverage is an independent telecommunications tower company in South Africa, currently focussing on the Gauteng province. Our aim is to have the most diversified geographical tower portfolio in South Africa.

 

The company was founded in 2014 by Rico Marx and Harm Kelderman. Sky Coverage acquires,  builds and manages shared telecommunications, leasing it to mobile operators as well as wireless Internet service providers.

 

 South Africa is a developing third world country growing towards a developed country. This puts immense strain on our telecommunications network of more people become reliant on communication services.  The mobile network operators are facing increased demand for voice services driven by price competition, as well as for data services as more consumers demand smart phone and Internet access.

 

 

Network building and operating costs are significantly higher in Africa, yet revenues per customer are falling and regulators are acquiring additional rural coverage and improvements in quality of service. Therefore, mobile network operators seeking to reduce capital and operating costs by sharing infrastructure.
